League Legislative Day (organized by the State League).
The state League of Women Voters are firming up plans for Legislative Day, February 7.
There are not any 'formal' events for the morning. Please arrive as
early as is convenient for you, and go to the committee meetings of your choice and/or observe the full House and Senate if they are in session.
We will gather at noon for lunch at the Thrush Tavern, just a stone's throw from the Statehouse. For $10.00 per person we will be served a green salad and a choice of sandwiches: turkey, ham, or egg salad. Kate Rader will collect the $10.00 each and pay the bill for all. "I'm sure those who want dessert will be able to order from the menu and pay for it separately." You don't have to pay in advance, but we do have to give the restaurant a head count by Monday, February 5, so please let Kate know if you will be there.
At the luncheon, Vee Gordon will update us on our legislative priorities and the relevant bills under consideration.
We are asking you to get in touch with your legislators, let them know we will
be there on the 7th and ask them if they will meet with you, preferably at
lunch. Local units may do this as a group, and individual members at large are encouraged to do so as well.

Town Meeting Day has been an important political event as Vermonters elect local officers and vote on budgets. It has also been a time for neighbors to discuss the civic issues of their community, state and nation."
